As you may know, February approacheth. And with February comes that wonderful holiday that many of my friends (before they were happily married, of course) would endearingly term “Singles Appreciation Day.” You may know it as Valentine’s Day. Whether you have dinner plans, romantic plans, or plans to attend a baby shower in Lubbock, Texas (ok, that’s my plan–and it will certainly stamp out any ideas of romance for this childless gal)–have you begun thinking about just how “green” your V-Day can be?
First on the list:
CARDS. If you are a sucker for gorgeous greeting cards like I am, you can go to Crane, or Papyrus, or Hallmark. Or you can visit some of these sites (there are sooo many) for ideas for your own projects or for folks who will make cards for you. The other thing you can do is to reuse old V-Day cards. Cut the front off and paste to your own blank card et voila! Finally, consider sending e-cards!
GIFTS. Consider creating coupons for your loved ones of nice things you can do for them. Again, consider making a gift or buying something handmade or fair trade.
THE DAY. Plan a green day!
Get crackin’! You have 2 weeks!
